Another Alberta oil and gas company has shut down.
In October Calgary-based Houston Oil and Gas told the Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) that it was ceasing operations and filed bankruptcy.
The company was mainly in southeast Alberta producing natural gas.
Some of the wells were transferred to the Orphan Well Association (OWA) to be decommissioned. The OWA is funded by the oil and gas industry and cleans up infrastructure when companies go bankrupt and assets can’t be sold.
