Bitter cold snap ended and it’s ‘balmy’ in Red Deer

RED DEER – The City of Red Deer posted a photo encouraging residents to enjoy the ‘balmy’ weather.

“Today feels downright balmy compared to that week of bitter cold!” said the City of Red Deer on Facebook.

“The lights at the outdoor rinks have been turned back on, so after a week of being cooped up we hope you can get out there and enjoy the fresh air!”

After temperatures dipping to -40 and feeling about -50 with the windchill, the above freezing weather is more than a welcome relief to Red Deerians – and Albertans.

It’s 5 degrees in Ponoka, -6 in Edmonton and 1 degree in Calgary.
