Fort Vermillion RCMP charge woman, 29, with first-degree murder

FORT VERMILLION – RCMP Major Crimes and Fort Vermilion charged Sandra Wapoose, 29, of John D’or Prairie, Alta. with first degree murder in the homicide of Barry Lizotte, 57, of Fort Vermilion.

On Oct. 17, 2019, at about 10:30 p.m., RCMP were dispatched to a 9-1-1 call of a deceased man outside of a residence. When RCMP arrived they located a deceased man and arrested a suspect at the scene.

Wapoose was remanded in custody and appears in Fort Vermilion provincial court on Nov. 5.

As this matter is now before the courts police say no further information will be provided.
