Man robs Alix ATB with rifle and machete, flees on snowmobile

ALIX – Bashaw RCMP are investigating an armed robbery that occurred this morning in Alix and said they saw the suspect flee on a snowmobile.

At 11:14 a.m., the RCMP responded to a 911 call of an armed robbery at the ATB Financial Agency.  

A man wearing a mask and gloves entered the branch with a long-barrelled firearm and a machete.  He demanded cash, and after receiving the cash fled with the undisclosed amount.

No employees were injured in this incident.

RCMP determined that the snowmobile was last known to be on Alix Lake.

RCMP took a photo of the suspect and distributed it to the media.  The RCMP are seeking assistance from anyone who recognizes this male and/or the snowmobile to call Bashaw RCMP at 780-372-3793.
