One person shot dead during protests in Detroit

Detroit police confirmed that one person, 19, is dead after shots were fired during a protest.

The spokesperson said no police officer was involved and that an unknown person fired a shot, possibly multiple, into a crowd of protesters. The shooter fired from a grey Dodge Durango before fleeing the scene.

Amid raging protests, local police report that shots were fired at protesters, leaving at least one person dead. The authorities said that no officer was involved.

Protests across the United States continue over the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis. The riots at times are resulting in looting. The National Guard was called to help in Minnesota and Georgia.
