Face masks will now be required for anyone entering the Edmonton International Airport. The announcement follows a requirement by Transport Canada to wear a mask on any flight.
Anyone entering the airport will be required to buy a mask if they do not have one.
Steve Maybee, vice president of operations and infrastructure at the airport, said that April and May averaged 300 passengers per day at the Edmonton airport, while June has seen an increase to 1,000. Maybee said most passengers are still travelling for essential or business-related reasons.
