Man drowns in Annette Lake at Jasper National Park

A 39-year-old man drowned in Annette Lake Aug. 3.

The RCMP responded at 5 p.m. to a call of a possible drowning.

When they arrived, the parks personnel and EMS were on scene trying to provide life saving measures.  Despite the attempts at resuscitation the man was declared deceased.

Several people including family and tourists made efforts to reach the man and assist in his recovery. 

The RCMP wants to thank the many people who offered help.

There is no indication of any criminality in this incident. The investigation is ongoing with the assistance of the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Edmonton. The RCMP will not be providing further information.
