Airdrie RCMP ask public’s help identifying suspect who withdrew $26,000 from various ATMs around Calgary

On July 6 an unidentified man went to an ATB Financial branch in Airdrie, produced falsified identification and obtained a debit card. The suspect had working knowledge of the victim’s name, social insurance number and date of birth.

Throughout the next 24 hours, withdrawals were made exceeding $26,000 from various sites in and around Calgary. The locations of the withdrawals included the Grey Eagle and Elbow River Casinos.

This suspicious and out of character activity caused the bank to lock down the victim’s account at which time the thefts and impersonation were discovered and reported to police.

Turner Valley RCMP are asking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect or information in relation to this incident. Please contact Turner Valley RCMP at 403-933-4262 or your local police.
