Update – located: Cochrane RCMP ask public’s help locating missing senior, 73, who didn’t return from walk Saturday

Update Nov. 29 8 p.m.: Jim Beatty has been located safe and unharmed. Cochrane RCMP would like to thank the media and public for their assistance.

Cochrane RCMP are looking for 73 year old Jim Beatty who failed to return home from a walk yesterday afternoon.  Mr. Beatty is described as 5’11, 172 lbs, grey hair and blue eyes.  He is believed to be in good overall health but is hard of hearing.  He was not wearing his hearing aids when he left home.   Mr. Beatty  left home from the Glenbow Drive area in Cochrane. 

Cochrane Search and Rescue and Calgary Search and Rescue personnel will be conducting ground searches this morning in the area.  They will be wearing orange or yellow jackets that identify themselves as Search and Rescue.  The RCMP helicopter is en route to assist in the search.

Cochrane RCMP are asking residents in the area to check their properties, including their yards, garages, and sheds.  If Beatty is seen, please call 911 or flag down one of the emergency vehicles who are currently in the area looking for him.
