Update: Police arrest man for alleged indecent acts on Edmonton LRT

Police seek additional complainants, witnesses

Update March 21, 1:50 p.m.

Stanley Jago was taken into custody by ETS security without incident on the evening of Saturday, March 20, 2021 in southwest Edmonton and was subsequently turned over to police.

Investigators continue to believe there may be additional incidents, as well as complainants and witnesses to the indecent acts reported on Friday, March 5, 2021, on the LRT and Sunday, March 14, 2021,at a transit terminal. At the time of the March 5th incident, Jago was reportedly wearing baggy green pants and a hoodie with a sweater over top. On March 15th, he was described as wearing baggy pants and a black jacket with a hood. Jago also reportedly has a rose tattoo on his left hand.

The Edmonton Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance locating a 30-year-old man wanted on warrants for indecent acts on the LRT and at a transit terminal.

It was reported to police that at approximately 6 p.m. on Friday, March 5, 2021, a male riding the Metro Line LRT northbound between Central and Bay Enterprise stations was exposing himself to female passengers. The male remained on the northbound train after one of the female complainants exited at the Kingsway/Royal Alex station.

On Sunday, March 14, 2021, at approximately 11 p.m., police received a second report of a male exposing himself and masturbating in front of a female passenger waiting at the Corona LRT station.  The male is believed to have remained at the station after the female boarded the train.

Following an investigation, police determined the same suspect was involved in both incidents and officers have identified him as Stanley Jago, 30. Jago is currently wanted on province-wide warrants for indecent act (x2). 

Investigators believe there may be additional incidents, complainants and witnesses. As a result, police released photos of Jago.

Jago is described as 5’4” tall and approximately 120 lbs. At the time of the March 5th incident, he was reportedly wearing baggy green pants and a hoodie with a sweater over top. On March 15th, he was described as wearing baggy pants and a black jacket with a hood. Jago also reportedly has a rose tattoo on his left hand.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Jago or anyone who was victimized or witnessed the above incidentsis advised to immediately call the EPS at 780-423-4567or #377 from a mobile phone.
