Wetaskiwin RCMP investigate break-in, theft at church

WETASKIWIN – On April 8, 2021, Wetaskiwin RCMP were advised of a report of a break-in at the Jesus Cares Fellowship Church in the area of Northmount Drive in Wetaskiwin, that had occurred on the evening of March 30, 2021. 

It was later determined a base and electrical guitar had been stolen.  It’s unknown how access was gained.   Two guitars, a black and white Fender bass guitar and a black Ibanez electric guitar worth more than $1,000 were taken.  

A review of the video surveillance obtained from the scene shows that at approximately 10:30 p.,m. an unidentified person was observed inside the church.  On April 11 Wetaskiwin RCMP received another call of a break in at the church, where at approximately 1:49 a.m., an unidentified person gained entry to the church again.  This time a tambourine was stolen.
